Hand off the busywork
Every firm has work that follows a rule: when a client signs, send the welcome packet. When records arrive, notify the attorney. Automations do that work the moment the case changes, every time, without being asked.

How it works
- 01
Start from a trigger
A workflow begins when something happens: a case is created, a status changes, a field is set, a client signs in CaseHQ. You choose the trigger and the conditions.
- 02
Chain the steps
Update fields, create tasks with owners and due dates, send emails and texts, add the case to a list, or branch on a condition. Steps run in order, and you can see each one in the builder.
- 03
Watch it run on real cases
Every run is logged on the case's activity feed, so you can see exactly what the automation did and when. If a step needs human judgment, it creates a task instead of guessing.
Phases keep the work moving
Workflows are the phases a case moves through. Drop automations into each column so the right sequence runs when a case enters Intake, Document Collection, or Settlement.
What firms actually automate first
The highest-value workflows are boring on purpose. New client onboarding: welcome email, CaseHQ invitation, records request task. Status hygiene: when a demand goes out, set the follow-up date and create a task if nothing happens in 30 days. Treatment check-ins: a text to the client every three weeks asking how treatment is going.
None of these are hard. They are just relentless, and staff have better things to do than remember them across a few hundred open cases. That is the tradeoff automations make: they handle the predictable so your team can handle the exceptions.
